In short
Party Casino offers daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits on every Canadian site, plus time-outs and self-exclusion. Ontario adds loss and stake limits and session reminders. Lowering a limit works at once, while raising one waits 24 hours and needs your confirmation.
- Deposit limitsDaily, weekly, monthly
- Time-out1 day up to 3 months
- Self-exclusionFrom 6 months
Why set limits before you play
The best moment to set a limit is before your first deposit, when you are calm and the number is just a budget.
Party Casino is owned by Entain and serves Canada through separate set-ups: a Kahnawake-regulated site for the rest of Canada, a licensed Ontario site and an Alberta site. The responsible gambling tools are similar across all of them, but not identical, so this page keeps Ontario apart wherever the rules differ. For the licensing side, see our licence page.
Think of the tools as a ladder. Deposit limits cap how much money goes in. A time-out pauses the account for days or weeks. Self-exclusion locks it for months or years. Closing the account ends the relationship altogether. You can start on any rung and move up, and the lower rungs are easy to use from your account settings.
- Budget first: decide a monthly entertainment amount you would not miss, then turn it into limits.
- Time matters too: in Ontario, session reminders tell you how long you have been playing.
- Asking for help is normal: every tool here is meant to be used before there is a problem.
Deposit limits at Party Casino
A deposit limit sets the most you can add to your balance in a day, a week or a month. Party Casino offers all three on every Canadian site, and you can use them together, for example a weekly limit that sits comfortably inside your monthly one.
Lower is instant, higher is slow: a decrease applies immediately. An increase, or removing the limit, waits 24 hours and has to be confirmed at your next login. That pause is deliberate, so a bad evening cannot undo a sensible plan.
Use the planner below to turn a monthly budget into the three numbers to enter. It is plain maths: the weekly figure is the monthly amount times 12, divided by 52 and rounded down, and the daily figure is the monthly amount divided by 30, rounded down. Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.
Limit planner
Enter your monthly entertainment budget and, if you like, how many sessions you play each week.
Lowering a limit applies immediately. Raising it waits 24 hours and needs confirmation at your next login.
With a C$200 budget, the planner gives C$6 a day, C$46 a week and C$200 a month. The daily and weekly numbers look small next to the monthly one because rounding down keeps the shorter limits from adding up to more than your budget. If you would rather play in fewer, bigger sessions, set the daily limit a little higher and let the weekly limit do the real work.
What is different in Ontario
The Ontario site adds two tools that the other Canadian sites do not list: loss and stake limits, and session-length reminders.
Loss and stake limits
Set over 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. Increases only take effect after 24 hours.
Session reminders
A prompt that can repeat daily, weekly or monthly so you see how long you have been playing.
Outside Ontario, deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion are the main tools. If you live in New Brunswick, our New Brunswick guide explains which set-up applies to you.
Time-out: a short, reversible break
A time-out locks you out of the account for a fixed stretch and then reopens it automatically. It suits the moments when you feel you are chasing a loss, or you just want a week without slots. You do not have to explain anything and you do not lose the account.
| Option | Ontario | Rest of Canada |
|---|---|---|
| 1 day | Yes | Yes |
| 1 week | Yes | Yes |
| 1 month | Yes | Yes |
| 2-3 months | Yes | No |
| Custom period | No | Up to 6 weeks |
Swipe to see all columns
Ontario offers fixed lengths up to 3 months; elsewhere you can choose any period up to 6 weeks.
In both set-ups the account reopens by itself when the time-out ends. If a break of that size feels too short, move to self-exclusion instead. Withdrawals are a separate question; our withdrawal guide covers how and when you can take your balance out.
Safe tip: if you already know a day will not be enough, pick a longer time-out right away. Choosing a short one and extending it later is also fine.
How to close your Party Casino account
Closing is different from a time-out or exclusion: you are ending the account, not pausing it. The terms ask for written notice with a 7-day notice period, so tell Customer Service clearly that you want the account closed.
- 1
Withdraw first
Take your balance out through the cashier before you ask to close.
- 2
Contact support
Use the Customer Support page or live chat after you log in. The team is available 24/7.
- 3
Put it in writing
State that you want the account closed. The notice period is 7 days.
- 4
Check the result
A closed account cannot register again, so be sure before you confirm.
If your real aim is to stop gambling rather than to leave one casino, closing alone may not be enough, because you could simply sign up somewhere else. That is where self-exclusion is stronger. If the account has been restricted by the casino rather than by you, read why accounts get restricted instead.
Watch out: an inactive account is not the same as a closed one. The rest-of-Canada terms allow an inactivity fee after 365 days, and the balance may be withheld after 18 months. Ask for a proper closure.
Self-exclusion for a longer break
Self-exclusion is the strongest tool you can set yourself. It blocks the account for a period you choose, and it is meant to be hard to undo on a bad day.
- Ontario
- 6 months to 5 years
- Rest of Canada
- 6 months to indefinite
- Ontario reopening
- Ask support yourself
- Rest of Canada revoking
- After 6 months, via support
In Ontario nothing reopens automatically: when your period ends you have to contact support to come back. Outside Ontario the exclusion can be revoked only after the first 6 months, and only through Customer Service. Either way, the exclusion applies across Entain Group platforms, so it is not just one login that closes.
Good to know: iGaming Ontario runs a separate province-wide programme called BetGuard. It is independent of the operator's own exclusion. Ontario players who want every licensed site covered can register there as well.
Before you exclude, withdraw what is left in your balance and tell people you trust. During the break, delete the apps, remove saved cards from your phone and consider blocking gambling payments with your bank.

Our check: what we looked at and when
On 9 October 2026 we read the operator's terms and its responsible gambling pages for Canada and for Ontario. Everything above comes from those documents. We did not open an account or try the tools ourselves, so we cannot describe the exact screens or menu names you will see.

Rules and limits can change. If anything here differs from what you see after you log in, trust the operator's page and Customer Service. The casino does not publish some details, such as how long a written closure request takes beyond the 7-day notice, so we have left them out rather than guess. You can read more about us on the about page.

Responsible gambling questions answered
Can I set a deposit limit at Party Casino?
Yes. On every Canadian Party Casino site you can set a daily, weekly and monthly deposit limit. Lowering a limit takes effect immediately, while raising or removing one waits 24 hours and must be confirmed when you next log in.
Does Party Casino have loss limits and session reminders?
Those two tools are listed for the Ontario site only: loss and stake limits over 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, and session-length reminders that can be daily, weekly or monthly. Players elsewhere in Canada use deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.
How long can a time-out last?
In Ontario you can pick 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 2 months or 3 months, and the account reopens by itself afterwards. Outside Ontario the choices are 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or any period up to 6 weeks.
What is the difference between a time-out and self-exclusion?
A time-out is a short break that ends on its own. Self-exclusion is a long one: 6 months to 5 years in Ontario, and at least 6 months outside it, with no automatic return in Ontario. Self-exclusion also applies across Entain Group platforms.
Can I reverse self-exclusion early?
Outside Ontario it can be revoked only after the first 6 months, through Customer Service. In Ontario the account does not reopen on its own, so you have to ask support once your chosen period is over.
How do I close my Party Casino account?
Send a written request to Customer Service. The terms give a 7-day notice period, so withdraw your balance first. A closed account cannot be used to register again.
Is BetGuard the same as the casino's own self-exclusion?
No. BetGuard is the province-wide self-exclusion run by iGaming Ontario and is separate from the exclusion you set with the operator. You can use either, or both.
